Die beiden Tony-Award-Preisträger Anika Noni Rose (“Caroline, or Change”) und Matthew Broderick (“How to Succeed in Business…”) haben heute die Nominierungen für die 65. Verleihung der Tony Awards bekannt gegeben. Mit 14 Nominierungen setzte sich “The Book of Mormon” an die Spitze aller Produktionen. Um den Titel “Bestes Musical” wetteifern in dieser Saison “The Book of Mormon”, “Catch Me If You Can”, “The Scottsboro Boys” und “Sister Act”. Die Nominierung als “Beste Hauptdarstellerin in einem Musical” teilen sich Sutton Foster (“Anything Goes”), Beth Leavel (“Baby, It’s You!”), Patina Miller (“Sister Act”) und Donna Murphy (“The People in the Picture”). Konkurrenten um den Tony als “Bester Hauptdarsteller in einem Musical” sind Norbert Leo Butz (“Catch Me If You Can”), Josh Gad (“The Book of Mormon”), Joshua Henry (“The Scottsboro Boys”), Andrew Rannells (“The Book of Mormon”) und Tony Sheldon (“Priscilla – Queen of the Desert”).
